Premier Planed Softwood

Premier Planed Softwood

Most of our timber for our 'Premier Planed' joinery softwood is sourced from Siljan, one of the most modern mills in Sweden. Siljan are ideally situated to harvest timber from the central and northern regions, where a colder climate results in slower tree growth and therefore denser, stronger, more stable wood. Siljan supply us with European Redwood Pine, which has the best texture for a fine, sharp finish. Siljan's grading systems are also amongst the highest in the industry, which means they can meet our own stringent requirements of using kiln dried and graded sections that are as close as possible to the final size we are producing.

Suitable for joinery work and applications where appearance is desirable or paramount, we select the best grades available for our 'Premier Planed' softwood. This ensures that Champion Timber is great value for money by providing:

'FrameMate' planed regularised softwood

FrameMate Softwood

Used for framework, studding, battening and for applications where price and strength is more important than appearance, 'FrameMate' is available in selected lengths of 22 x 50mm, 47 x 50mm, 47 x 75mm and 47 x 100mm nominal. To ensure consistency it is planed and regularised for uniform dimension all round and, like our 'Premier Planed', kiln dried to reduce timber distortion.

Sawn softwood

Sawn untreated softwood is available in a range of sizes for general building work, shuttering, packing cases and non-structural internal work.

Other Construction Softwood

Roofing

Other softwoods
