When working with 1/2-inch drywall panels, use 1-1/4 or 1-3/8-inch nails or screws. When working with 5/8-inch drywall panels, use 1-3/8-inch or 1-5/8-inch screws. In most cases, securing drywall will require fewer screws than nails.
Wood screws are better than Drywall Screws for woodworking projects. Drywall Screws are made of hardened, brittle steel, and the shaft will often snap during installation, especially if they’re screwed into hardwoods. That can be a disaster when you’re working with finished material and you want to remove the screw to reposition something—it’s nearly impossible to get the broken-off shank out of the wood without damaging the surface. Drywall Screws are hardened so that the Phillips slots won’t strip out under the stress of high-speed screw guns. Wood screws are thicker and made of softer metal, making them more snap-resistant.
Our range of Drywall Screws has something to suit any project. With a wide variety of sizes and thicknesses, as well as self-drilling screws available, you’re sure to find what you’re looking for. Save even more money with big multipacks of Drywall Screws and stay stocked up for all your DIY needs.
