About Our Solid Pine Flooring

What Planed Pine Floorboards does Champion Timber offer?

At Champion Timber, all of our timber is responsibly sourced, even these planed redwood pine floorboards are acquired with sustainability and chain of custody in mind. Our solid wood flooring range is available with a square edge or tongue and groove profile and is also Kiln Dried for added stability.

Do Planed Pine Floorboards come pre-finished?

No, unlike engineered hardwood flooring, softwood does not come pre-finished. You’ll need to finish your own pine wood flooring using stain, varnish, or oil. For maximum protection and durability, give the floor 2 coats of stain or varnish and wait 24 hours for the wooden floors to dry. Then apply a final coat of stain, varnish, or oil, making it an extremely customisable floor option for your home.

Can you leave Planed Pine Floorboards unfinished?

We recommend that the Planed Pine Boards are not used as a finished floor due to the moisture content of the timber as it is typically around 12-15% and when the floorboard is installed in a centrally heated property the boards can dry out to around 6-8 % and this could result in some shrinkage resulting in small gaps between the boards.
