What does a Laser Level do?

In surveying and construction, the laser level is a control tool consisting of a rotating laser beam projector that can be affixed to a tripod. The tool is levelled according to the accuracy of the device and projects a fixed red or green beam in a plane about the horizontal and/or vertical axis.

Do I need a tripod for your Laser Level?

A tripod allows you to easily adjust the laser to the best height and level it on uneven ground. But you don't need a tripod that's designed for lasers. If you already have a camera tripod, it'll probably work just fine with your laser since the threads are usually the same size.

Do I need a green or red Laser Level?

Outside of the obvious difference in colour, there are significant differences between red and green laser levels. While a green beam appears brighter to the human eye and often produces a crisper point or line, it is also more expensive and consumes more battery power. Knowing which to pick is dependent on how you intend to use your laser level as well as your budget. As there is no difference in accuracy between our red and green laser levels, the key differentiators are price, brightness, visibility range, and battery life.
