About Our Composite Decking

What is Composite Decking?

Composite Decking is a man-made building product made up of a mix of real wood fibres (except none in Millboard), plastics and a small number of bonding agents. This mix is heated, formed into board-shaped lengths and then cooled. The resulting boards need far less maintenance than traditional wood decking whilst looking more authentic than plastic alternatives.

What Composite Decking does Champion Timber offer?

The composite decking boards offer we stock is perfect to provide your terrace with a natural surface and make it almost indestructible. We can offer Millboard Decking, a new generation of innovative anti-slip and maintenance-free external decking, made in the UK, with at least 25-year service life. We also stock Ecodek, a solid board that requires minimal maintenance with no painting, staining or after-treatment required, and again with at least 25 years of service life. We also carry the associated fascias, fixings etc to finish off the project.

Composite is a fabulous alternative to natural timber decking and takes roughly the same decking installation time as well. The slip resistant element of our high quality composite decking makes it perfect for use by a swimming pool area or high-moisture room where water is prominent. Composite decking is also naturally anti-rot and anti-weather offering you peace of mind when compared to natural wood decking.

Composite decking is different to plastic deck boards, in that traditional composite decking would contain wood fibres as part of the structure whereas recycled plastics composite decking is 100% UPVC or similar. Both options are perfectly suitable for your decking project, but deciding between the two would require weighing up the pros and cons of the two in terms of budget and application.

All of our branches can offer a free composite decking samples pack of any of our stocked decking ranges completely for free for you to pick up at any time.
