About Our Mortice Knobs
Knobs are connected and secured via a special grip-spindle which is supplied, together with all the fixings required. Knobs and roses are separate, and all fixings are concealed once the knob is positioned onto the rose. All Champion Timber mortice knobs are guaranteed for 25 years if used and maintained according to instructions
When choosing the right doorknob for your home or workplace we have the style and finish you need to create that finishing touch. Whether you are trying to keep your home in a Victorian theme or looking for more of a classic feel or even a more modern look, you can be confident you will find it with us from top trade brands, a great added touch of quality.
What are Mortice Knobs?
A mortice doorknob is used with a latch or a lock mechanism, which is set within the door (as opposed to a rim knob). All of our mortice door knobs are sold as a pair complete with spindle and fittings.
Door knobs come in all shapes, sizes and finishes so there’s scope to pick from mortice knobs, brushed knobs for a rustic and casual finish, and polished knobs for a sophisticated and well-rounded look. Opt for a locking internal doorknob for use in a bathroom or bedroom for increased privacy or choose rubber children’s dresser and drawer knobs with patterns such as footballs, elephants, penguins and cars.
Backplates and rose plates offer differing looks for doorknobs. Backplates offer an element of grandeur and will often be installed higher up on a large timber door. These types of doorknobs often come with keyhole escutcheons to complete the installation and give the opportunity to install a lock too.
