About Our Landscaping Battens

What Landscaping Battens does Champion Timber offer?

At Champion Timber we offer a comprehensive range of landscaping and screening timbers including Cedar, Thermo Radiata Pine, Sapele, and Redwood. All our battens are perfect for landscaping projects and garden screen designs. They feature chamfered edges for an enhanced aesthetic and are pressure treated to UC3 to comply with the latest external timber standards.

Cedar Timber

Cedar is renowned for its exceptional natural durability and resistance to decay, making it an ideal choice for a wide range of exterior applications such as fencing, decking, and landscaping projects. Its inherent oils and fine grain structure contribute to its resilience against moisture, decay, and insect damage. It can be left to naturally weather to a silver grey colour or easily stained/oiled to enhance its colour.

Thermo Radiata Pine Timber

Thermo Radiata Pine is versatile and affordable, making it ideal for a wide range of applications. Virtually knot/defect free, it serves as a cost-conscious alternative to cedar timber. The Thermo process ensures the timber is highly resistant to rot and decay.

Sapele Timber

Sapele, with its medium to dark reddish-brown or purplish-brown hue, offers stunning ribboning when quarter-sawn, showcasing a striking visual effect that enhances its appeal in high-end applications. This hardwood is known for its fine, interlocking grain, providing both strength and aesthetic beauty. When flat-sawn, Sapele serves as an attractive alternative to Mahogany, offering similar durability and elegance at a more accessible price point.

Redwood Timber

Redwood timber is highly prized for its exceptional durability, rich colour, and natural resistance to decay and insects. Treated to UC3, the latest external timber standards provide long-lasting performance. Redwood’s sustainable harvesting practices further enhance its appeal, ensuring that it remains an environmentally responsible choice for construction and landscaping projects.

Engineered to withstand the elements, it offers excellent resistance to rot, warping, splintering, staining, and flaking, making it an ideal choice for both residential and commercial outdoor projects. How long do Landscaping Battens last?

  • Hardwood, such as Sapele: 20-40 years. Naturally resistant to decay and insects, hardwood is highly durable.
  • Maintenance: Applying regular treatments, like sealers or oils, can extend the lifespan of timber battens significantly.
